📖 Reading

The cafeterias at Marlow General began printing the sodium content of every dish on the menu board last spring. Since then, sales of the low-sodium soups have doubled, and sales of the saltiest dishes have dropped by about a third.

Which conclusion is best supported by the passage?

Show the answer

Answer: Some customers used the labels to choose food. Sales shifted toward low-sodium dishes after the labels appeared, which supports a cautious conclusion about some customers. "Every customer" goes beyond the evidence, taste is never mentioned, and nothing says the salty dishes will be dropped.

➗ Math

A student answers 42 of 56 quiz questions correctly. What percent is that?

Show the answer

Answer: 75%. Step 1: part ÷ whole = 42 ÷ 56. Step 2: simplify, 42/56 = 3/4 = 0.75. Step 3: multiply by 100 to get 75%. Picking 84% usually comes from dividing 42 by 50 instead of 56.

🔬 Science

Which vessel carries oxygen-poor blood from the heart to the lungs?

Show the answer

Answer: pulmonary artery. Arteries carry blood away from the heart, so the pulmonary artery takes oxygen-poor blood from the right ventricle to the lungs. The pulmonary veins bring oxygen-rich blood back to the left atrium, the aorta sends oxygen-rich blood to the body, and the superior vena cava returns blood to the heart.

✍️ English

Which sentence is punctuated correctly?

Show the answer

Answer: the semicolon. Both halves are complete sentences, and a semicolon can join two closely related complete sentences. A comma alone makes a comma splice, no punctuation makes a run-on, and the last option splits the subject from its verb with a comma.
